Camden Yards History and Overview

Oriole Park at Camden Yards is in downtown Baltimore at 333 West Camden Street. It opened in 1992 and has been home to MLB’s Baltimore Orioles ever since.

Camden Yards was built as the first ‘retro’ ballpark design of the 90s and has a capacity of 45,971 (48,187 including standing room only) for Orioles games. Keep reading for a full Camden Yards seating chart.

Baltimore Orioles Best Seats

The Best seats for an Orioles game are either behind home plate in sections 28-48, behind the Orioles dugout in sections 22-26, or in the Club Level sections along the first and third baselines. Many Orioles fans will say there is no bad seat in the house, but these sections offer the best view of a Baltimore Orioles game.

Baltimore Orioles Field Level Seats

The Field Level Seats for the Orioles are located in sections 4-98 (even numbers) and wrap around the entire stadium. If you want to sit in the shade at Camden Yards, focus on the second set of field sections, specifically the lower reserve (odd-numbered sections 1-87). These sections offer shaded seats for the Orioles games, and although you can’t track all the high pop-ups or foul balls, avoiding the hot sun on summer days may be worth the tradeoff.

These seats also provide protection from rain at Camden Yards. Note: If you sit in one of the last rows, you may not be able to see the Jumbotron. The park attempts to compensate for this by installing small ceiling-mounted monitors in these areas.

Baltimore Orioles Club Seats

The Club Level seats at Camden Yards are in the 200 sections (204-288). Club Level seats do not include food and drink, but they do offer access to the Club Concourse, which features exclusive food options from other levels. Waiter service is also available if you prefer not to leave your seat.

However, the seats in sections 282-288 include food and (non-alcoholic) drinks at the price of admission.

Baltimore Orioles Bleacher Seats

The Eutaw Bleacher Seats at Camden Yards offer pleasantly surprising views for the price. Seats in section 98 will still have a view of the Jumbotron, which is difficult to see in the other bleacher sections.

Like all ballpark bleacher sections, you will find the rowdiest fans here. You will feel like you’re roasting in the bleacher seats on hot summer days, so you should consider that.

Seats to Avoid at Camden Yards

Many Orioles fans will say there isn’t a bad seat in the house, but there are definitely specific tickets you want to stay away from. The upper deck in left field is a section you want to avoid if you sit in higher rows. In those rows, the left fielder will run out of your sight if he runs to the warning track to catch a ball.

Baltimore Orioles Dugout and Bullpen

The Orioles Dugout is in front of sections 22-26, and the visitors’ dugout is in front of sections 48-52

Baltimore Orioles Seat Numbers

The Camden Yards seating chart, with seat numbers for the Orioles, follows the standard sports stadium pattern, in which seat number 1 is always closest to the lower-numbered section.

In the case of Camden Yards, seat number 1 will always be on the right side of a section, as the section numbers increase from left field to right field in descending order. For example, seat 1 in section 38 will be closest to the highest seat number in section 37.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards Sun and Shade Guide

Oriole Park at Camden Yards is oriented with home plate facing northeast, a common layout that creates a predictable sun pattern for fans. During afternoon games, the sun tracks from east to west, meaning the right field and first base sides receive the brunt of direct sunlight in the early to mid innings.

The famous B&O Warehouse beyond right field does not provide meaningful shade to the seating areas but is a helpful visual landmark. The upper deck overhang begins casting shade onto the lower field-level sections on the third-base side around the third inning for 1:05 PM starts. Left field bleacher seats and the home run area in left center receive sun throughout most afternoon games.

For evening games starting at 7:05 PM, most sections are comfortable, though the sun can sit low on the horizon and shine directly into the eyes of fans seated on the first base side during the first two innings.

Best shaded seats for day games: Sections 24 to 40 in the lower deck on the third base side. Upper deck sections 300 to 318 have overhang coverage for sections below.

Bottom line: Arrive at Camden Yards ready for the sun if you are sitting along the first base line for an afternoon game. The third-base-side lower deck is the most comfortable choice on hot summer days.

ADA Seating at Oriole Park at Camden Yards

For those who use a wheelchair and/or those looking to attend a baseball game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards with someone who uses one, there is some important information you’ll want to know. If you’re seeking ADA seating, you’ll find accessible rows at the top of most sections throughout the ballpark.
