Disney Live is playing for nearly two weeks at the Theater at Madison Square Garden this spring. The show was written to involve the children in the audience by getting the kids to call out the names of different characters to make them appear on stage, and getting them to shout the answers to questions asked by the characters. Young children won’t be able to get enough of it, and it will be just entertaining enough for the adults to enjoy as well.

Every stand-up comedy junkie has their list of stand up comedians, and fluffy Gabriel Iglesias comes in at #2 on my list, right behind the god-of-all-comedy, Louis C.K., who performed three nights at MSG in January. Iglesias is an all-star comic, known for his creative use of different voices, and compelling storytelling. His routines don’t go for the easy punchline – over an hour long period, he will pile hilarious story on top of hilarious story, including you in his adventures with his friends, his wife, and adopted son, making you feel like you’re a part of the gang, and letting you in on all the in-jokes along the way. Definitely a show worth going to!

To be completely honest, I had never heard of Ron White until I saw him on the Madison Square Garden schedule. A cigar smoking, whiskey drinking, conservative-minded comic, with a slightly Southern accent. His shows contain some crude humor, cuss words, and frank discussions on dying, the use of guns, and all things ‘wussier’ comics won’t talk about.

First of all, what an amazing experience for these high school students, to be able to play in the greatest basketball arena in the world. I loved playing for my high school team, and I can just imagine what playing at MSG means for these kids. I expect the stands will be mostly filled with parents, students from the competing schools, and possibly some kids from local high schools. If you’re interested in joining them, it could excellent way to get an extra edge on next year’s March Madness bracket.
