loanDepot park History and Overview
loanDepot Park, also known as Marlins Park, is one of the newest ballparks in professional baseball, completed for the 2012 season. It’s baseball’s “greenest” ballpark and boasts a retractable roof.
The funding for the stadium’s construction was highly controversial, but Miami-Dade County eventually absorbed it. loanDepot Park has a capacity of 37,442, making it the third-smallest stadium in Major League Baseball.
loanDepot Park Seat Numbers
The loanDepot park seating chart with seat numbers shows that seat 1 is always closer to the lower-numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 9 would be closest to the highest numbered seat in section 8.
Typically, the best seats are closer to home plate. Going by that logic, if you’re on the left-field line, you’d want a seat with a lower seat number, and on the right-field line, you’d look for a higher seat number. (So remember, don’t think of seat and row numbers as the same thing.)
Miami Marlins Best Seats
With two World Series Championships, fans flock to Miami Marlins events and games, always seeking the best view. The best seats for a Miami Marlins game are in the Diamond Club seats behind home plate or the Clubhouse Box seats along the first and third baselines.
If these seats are out of your price range, don’t worry. Cheap tickets in the upper levels are available for every Marlins game. The ballpark is one of the smallest in baseball, so there seems to be no bad seat at LoanDepot Park.
Miami Marlins Premium Seats
The Miami Marlins offer a variety of premium seating options at Marlins Park. The Diamond Club seats located directly behind home plate in sections 4-8 are the best in the house and include complimentary food and drink (including beer and wine). The Bacardi 1st- and 3rd-Base Dugout Clubs offer the same complimentary items as the Diamond Club seats and are located in sections 1-3 and 9-11. The Clubhouse Box Seats, located in sections 8-10 and 19-21, also offer complimentary food and drink and incredible field views.
The Clevelander: As described on the Miami Marlins ballpark information page, “The Miami Marlins have partnered with the world-renowned South Beach hotel, The Clevelander, to operate a poolside lounge area, unlike any other ballpark experience. The Clevelander at loanDepot park features a swimming pool, fabulous cuisine, signature beverages, entertainment, and a one-of-a-kind seating location at the Field Level while viewing the game through the outfield fence.
Located next to the bullpen in left field, the Clevelanders’ guests can watch the visiting team pitchers warm up and get a close-up view of the Marlins outfielders making spectacular plays during the game.
loanDepot park Sun and Shade Guide
loanDepot Park features a retractable roof that is closed for virtually all home games due to Miami’s extreme heat and afternoon thunderstorm patterns from April through September. When the roof is closed, the stadium is fully air-conditioned, and seats can be chosen entirely based on preference, price, and sightlines, without any consideration for the sun.
When the roof is open, the stadium faces roughly northeast. The first base side and right field seats receive the most direct sun under open-roof conditions, while the third base side benefits from shade sooner. Open-roof games are rare and typically reserved for the most comfortable weather conditions Miami sees, which generally means spring or fall evening games.
The retractable roof is a defining feature of loanDepot park and one of the primary reasons the Marlins moved from their outdoor predecessor. Fans can count on a consistent, climate-controlled environment for nearly every home game.
Best shaded seats when the roof is open: third-base-side sections 7 to 18. Club-level seats also benefit from overhang coverage.
Bottom line: Sun and shade are not meaningful factors at loanDepot park. Choose your seats based on view and budget, and let the roof handle the rest.
Miami Marlins Dugout and Bullpen Locations
The Miami Marlins’ dugout is in front of sections 19-21, and the visitors’ dugout is in front of sections 8-10. The Miami Marlins bullpen is in front of sections 29-31, and the visitors’ bullpen is in front of sections 38-39.
ADA Seating at loanDepot park
There is some vital information for wheelchair users and/or those looking to attend a game at LoanDepot Park with someone who uses a wheelchair. If you’re seeking ADA seating, you’ll find accessible rows at the top of most sections throughout the ballpark. If necessary, folding chairs will be provided for guests, such as those who need to sit with a fan while using a wheelchair.
One trick you can use to filter tickets that are ADA accessible (as shown below) is to use our “Additional filters +” button on the event page. This button lets you select “ADA (wheelchair accessible)” to view all seats the seller has marked as accessible.
