St. Louis Cardinals Terrace Seating (400 Level)

The highest level of seating at Busch Stadium is the Terrace Level, which comprises sections 428-454. These sections occupy the entire right field line and wrap around, stopping just short of 3rd base.

The Terrace Level has some of the cheapest seats for St. Louis Cardinals games (especially in right field), and the views are better than expected. The Terrace Level sections have an average of 20 seats per row, with fewer seats in the lower-numbered rows and more in the higher-numbered rows. You won’t find any relief from the sun in the Terrace Level or Busch Stadium.

St. Louis Cardinals Pavilion Seating (300 Level)

Pavilion Seating at Busch Stadium is just below the Terrace level and wraps around nearly the entire diamond, stretching from sections 328 to 372. The Pavilion seats are also affordable for Cardinals fans, with the most popular seats being along the infield. There are approximately 20 seats per row in the pavilion sections, though the number can vary significantly by section.

St. Louis Cardinals Loge Seating (200 Level)

The 200 level at Busch Stadium has some of the most desirable seats for catching a St Louis Cardinals game. The Redbird Club Seats are the most popular in the 200 level, including the Infield Redbird Club and Home Redbird Club seats. The Infield Redbird Club seats are in sections 241-246 and 254-257. The Home Redbird Club seats are located in sections 247-253. Seating in both Redbird Club areas grants access to the actual Redbird Club on the 200-level concourse.

Unlike other premium seating areas (covered below), the Redbird Club seats do not include food or beverages. They provide access to a fully enclosed, climate-controlled area, along with more upscale food and beverage options. There are plenty of couches, tables, and chairs to sit at to get out of the sun or warm up on cooler days. TVs are all over the club, tuned to the Cardinals game and other sporting events.

St. Louis Cardinals Field Seating (100 Level)

The 100-level section at Busch Stadium has one of the more unique row breakdowns for any Major League Stadium. The breakdowns in several 100-level sections, mainly along the first and third baselines, have both lettered and numbered rows. These sections may start in row A or D and end in row K, then begin recounting from row 1 to row 24 (or a similar range in some sections). We will get into more details about the lettered rows in a minute.

There is a slight break between these rows, which is essential to note when browsing tickets in the 100 level. The seating on the 100 level is pretty shallow, so in some cases, it will be better to sit in the first few rows of the 200 level than in the back of the 100 level. The infield seating offers the best views at field level, while the outfield sections (bleachers) provide the least desirable views. However, you will find the rowdiest crowds and cheapest 100-level seats in the bleachers.

St. Louis Cardinals Premium Seats (Cardinals Club and Box)

Busch Stadium offers several premium options for St. Louis Cardinals games, including the Cardinals Club and Diamond and Dugout Box seats.

Cardinals Club—The Cardinals Club is situated directly behind home plate in sections 1-8 and offers the best seats for the St. Louis Cardinals. Ticket holders in these sections will have access to the Cardinals Club dining room and lounge, with VIP service throughout each Cardinals game. The dining room provides a pregame buffet (included in the ticket price). These seats also offer in-seat wait service.

Diamond Boxes—The Diamond Boxes provide a unique view of Cardinals games as they are positioned right behind each team’s dugout. Sections 140-145 are right near the St. Louis Cardinals’ dugout, and sections 155-160 are near the visitors’ dugout. Unfortunately, the Diamond Box seats offer no additional benefits beyond the view. These seats are located in the lettered rows of the sections mentioned above.

Dugout Boxes – The boxes are located in the lettered rows of sections 132-139 and 161-166. No additional amenities are included with the Dugout Boxes; however, this is a prime location if you want a chance to catch a foul ball. These seats are in the lettered rows of the sections mentioned above.

Busch Stadium Sun and Shade Guide

Busch Stadium is oriented with home plate facing roughly northeast, and the downtown St. Louis location means afternoon summer games can be hot and humid. The stadium’s design includes a significant upper deck structure that progressively provides shade to lower-level sections throughout the afternoon.

For day games, the right field bleachers and the first base lower level sections are the most sun-exposed seats. The Budweiser Terrace area in right field stays in direct sun for most of a summer afternoon game. The third-base side lower level, roughly sections 142 to 160, falls into shade from the upper deck by the second or third inning of a 1:15 PM start, making those some of the most comfortable seats in the park on hot summer days.

The club level and the seats directly behind home plate benefit from the press box and administrative structure above, which provides shade for most of the game. The upper deck on both sides has a roof structure that shades the rows beneath it.

For evening games, Busch Stadium is generally comfortable, though St. Louis’ humidity can linger well into the evening in July and August. The northeast orientation means most fans are not dealing with direct sun glare during standard 7:15 PM starts.

Best shaded seats for day games: Lower-level sections 142 to 160 on the third-base side. The club level seating behind home plate is also fully shaded by mid-game.

Bottom line: Busch Stadium rewards fans who sit on the third base side for afternoon games. The upper deck creates shade faster than many parks on that side, which is a significant comfort advantage in St. Louis summer heat.
