Athletics Stadium Seating Capacity
Sutter Health Park has a capacity of just over 14,000 for Athletics games, making it the smallest ballpark in the majors, aside from George M. Steinbrenner Field, which was recently announced as the host of Tampa Bay Rays home games for the 2025 season.
The Best Seats for Athletics Games
Premium Seating for Athletics Games
The Athletics offer several premium seating options at Sutter Health Park. The stadium features multiple club areas, including the Dugout Club, located right behind home plate, which spans the front of Sections 108 through 116. Diamond View Dugout club seats include unlimited complimentary ballpark fare and complimentary local beer, wine, and spirits.
The Solon Club is in the right field and spans Sections 201 through 206. These club seats come with complimentary parking and premium spaces, including a private bar that remains open until the end of the game.
The Legacy Club is on the left field behind Sections 122 and 123. This luxury club offers a private balcony for game viewing and a climate-controlled lounge featuring field-level seating.
Sutter Health Park Seat Numbers
The Sutter Health Park seating chart with seat numbers indicates that seat 1 is typically located closer to the lower-numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 112 would be closest to the highest numbered seat in section 111.
Typically, the best seats are closer to home plate. Going by that logic, if you’re on the left-field line, you’d want a seat with a lower seat number, and on the right-field line, you’d look for a higher seat number. (So remember, don’t think of seat and row numbers as the same thing.)
Sutter Health Park Sun and Shade Guide
The Oakland Athletics relocated to Sutter Health Park in Sacramento beginning in 2025 while their permanent Las Vegas stadium is under construction. Sutter Health Park is a minor league-built stadium that has been adapted for MLB play, and its design reflects a more open, traditional ballpark character.
Sutter Health Park faces roughly northeast. For afternoon games, the first base and right field sections receive the most direct sun in the mid-afternoon hours. Sacramento’s Central Valley climate brings hot, dry summer heat, and afternoon temperatures at Sutter Health Park can rival or exceed what fans experienced in the East Bay. The third-base side lower sections benefit from the grandstand roof above, which provides shade throughout an afternoon game.
The upper grandstand on the third-base side has roof coverage that shades the seats in the rows directly beneath it. Bleacher and outfield seating areas are largely exposed and should be approached with sunscreen for any afternoon start. The park’s relatively compact footprint means the seating areas are closer together, which can help or hurt depending on which side of the sun-and-shade equation you are on.
Best shaded seats for day games: Lower grandstand sections on the third base side under the roof overhang. Club-level seats, if available, also provide shade coverage.
Bottom line: Sacramento summers are hot and dry. Shade planning matters more at Sutter Health Park than it did at the Oakland Coliseum. The third base side is the safe choice for afternoon games.
Athletics Bullpen and Dugout Location
The Athletics dugout is in front of Sections 117-119 along the third base line, and the visitors’ dugout at Sutter Health Park is in front of Sections 105-107 on the first base line.
The Athletics’ bullpen and the opposing team’s bullpen are in right field, opposite Toyota Home Run Hill, a general admission area where fans can catch the game from the grass.
